Was will Kanzaki in dieser gottverlassenen Stadt? - This is a film about a man with a helmet who lets you relive the past and gives you the happiest moments of your life. Because happiness is fleeting and the moments of happiness pass away in the wind. On the other hand, however, this also means that the dark moments of life pass away - only they remain longer in our memory. Isn't it true that we sometimes bury ourselves in the negative and traumatic, but let happiness sink in? This is the basic idea behind SABUS Parabel. The man with the helmet is called Kanzaki (Masatoshi Nagase). He is the stranger in a grey city with equally grey inhabitants. They no longer breathe a spark of life, although there is no obvious reason for it. What is Kanzaki doing in this godforsaken city? Why does he, who himself seems incapable of expressing emotion, want to help a group of strangers? Kanzaki keeps his helmet in a suitcase, which is equipped with buttons like a typewriter. If he puts the helmet on the head of a tired urbanite, he can stimulate his memories and bring the forgotten back to the surface. Lost happiness can be experienced again! Happiness draws its charm from these little scenes of happiness. These are small excerpts that can actually change our view of the world! But is Happiness really such a simple "crowd pleaser"? Or are Kanzaki's true motives of a completely different nature?.... (transl. deepl.com)
