Und gerade deswegen macht mir The Consequences Of Love so viel Spass! In Zeitlupe. - FREE ON YOUTUBE Imagine being Paolo Sorrentino: Would you be delighted or frustrated by the constant "Fellini" comparisons? Or both? To a certain extent, the comparison is justified. Both have a baroque style. And a fine sense of humour. I think Sorrentino is fascinated by modern society, where everyone has to be young and beautiful and energetic. His hero from The Consequences Of Love is not all that. And that's why The Consequences Of Love is so much fun for me! Oh no, I USE the film to get me in a good mood! How many times have I watched the DVD? Ten times? Once she just let a former employee go with her. She still has the DVD. Almost that I panicked and ordered a new one. Short and sweet; the film is very important to me. I love this film and its main character Titta di Girolamo (Toni Servillo). Titta is an extremely shy, divorced businessman or mafioso. Above all, he is lonely. He has been living in a Swiss hotel for eight years. In exile. In the morning he gets up and puts on his well-fitting suit. He walks alone through Lugano. Sometimes he plays chess. Mostly alone. Titta worked as a broker. He invested billions in the Cosa Nostra. And lost. That's why he has to live in the hotel. Every week he has to pay a suitcase with Mafia money into a Swiss bank as compensation. Titta hardly speaks. Maybe he was less shy and less lonely. But that was a long time ago. He develops feelings for the waitress Sofia (Olivia Magnani). But he approaches her like an intimidated teenager who is speechless... Sorrento's film is obsessed with shapes and angles. He loves compositions. Then the camera moves forward. In slow motion. Suddenly I realize: we are disoriented. Just like Titta. Do you sometimes hear Titta's heavy breathing in the film? Besides the music of the Berliners Terranova? Isn't that a visual and acoustic experience? The best way is to get the DVD from us at the video store. We all have Sorrentino films. Every single one. Or you can use this free stream on YouTube in good quality with English subtitles (discovered today on 15.8.2019 - who knows how long it will run free). And do you have a beamer at home? It's already available for 70 Euro. Have fun with one of my favourite movies!
