(A) In Jackie Chan Filmen findest du keinen Plot. Alles klar? - FREE ON YOUTUBE (YOU FIND THE WHOLE FILM FREI AUF YOUTUBE) For me, Jackie Chan's Drunken Master is simply an amazing movie! As a child I saw it for the first time and I loved the action sequences, which are among the most joyful of all times! No wonder! Jackie Chan has made over 70 films - but The Drunken Master remains a MUST! It can best be compared to the acrobatic slapstick films of the silent movie era, as the actors were capable of such incredible performances. To avoid misunderstandings for the Arthaus community. (A) You won't find a plot in Jackie Chan movies. The action is moving from action scene to action scene. All characters remain thin and the dialogues at most rudimentary. No problem to watch them in dubbing. The highlight of a Jackie Chan movie doesn't come at the end, but when you watch the outtakes. There we experience how he is really burned, beaten up, hit (...). He probably spent half of his life in the hospital. Or he was showered with a fire extinguisher. (B) The action in Jackie Chan movies seems innocent and friendly. Sure, there are villians, but also they fight very well and seem to have fun. (C) The pleasure in the fight scenes isn't that someone gets hit. It's in the choreography! Chan can run up walls or jump out of a train window as if that were NOTHING. (D) Chan doesn't need a stuntman. He does it himself. If he falls into a pit with burning coals, that happens too. And it is Chan himself. Of course the coals really burn. All right?
