- (YOU CAN FIND THE WHOLE MOVIE WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES ON YOUTUBE). An uprooted translator, not quite young anymore, falls in love with a problematic schoolgirl. One as strange in the world as he is. Together they make a strange but likeable couple. This is the subject matter of this Russian "RomCom" = romantic comedy! This witty and witty off beat comedy now consciously follows its own idiotic logic. He, the beaten Thirtysomething breaks with his past, escapes his accustomed environment and then gets involved with her; the pupil! Despite all linguistic differences (due to their different generations) both have to communicate with each other and that is exactly what makes Roman Karimov's film so attractive! First we meet Vitaly (Ilya Lyubimov), who survived a car accident in which his girlfriend was killed. In Moscow he is now looking for a new life, rents a new apartment and is looking for a new job. She, Cristina (Ingrid Olerinskaya), is only seventeen and lives next door. A girl who can't get along with teenagers her own age and has experienced one thing above all: disapproval. But Vitaly can give her something that impulsive Cristina lacks: traction. By the way, a romance never develops that is underscored with sticky music. On the contrary, to his reserved humor, she reacts with sarcasm, while Karimov's direction mainly seeks the absurdity of her dates. But who knows, maybe that will help him, because he is still haunted by the past? The traumatized man and the brat - and yet, above all, he seeks harmony with himself and his world! Fortunately, Indequate People is a no-budget production that comes FREE ON YOUTUBE across as fresh as it improvises! Just the right film for in between. (transl. deepl.com)
