Trailer
- Ridley Scott made "The Godfather" for the fashion world; the story of a family empire full of greed, betrayal and even murder. And a sufficient amount of extravagance above all Lady Gaga, but on the whole the screen is packed with fashion and superstars! But if the screen were a catwalk, then one would have to criticize that it was just so crowded that everything becomes a bit confusing. Over a period of 2 hours and 38 minutes. But Ridley Scott's sleazy epic (his second this year!) is not boring. Luckily, he was able to get his actors to adapt to the campy tone of the work, and luckily, Ridley Scott came up with a sensationally risqué sex scene! Leading the ensemble is Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani. She falls in love with the fashion house's dream man Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) and marries him - but is rejected by Maurizio's haughty father Rodolfo (Jeremy Irons). He, in turn, is ashamed of her lack of cultural finesse. She finds an ally, however, in Uncle Aldo (Al Pacino), who is less concerned with class consciousness than with restoring value to the commercially tarnished brand. After all, we're in the '70s and there are whispers about the family business in distress. The most awesome character is Aldo's son Paolo (Jared Leto), who seems like a rock star. After all, Paolo is an incompetent businessman and a tasteless fashion designer. A man of the future! Spanning three decades, the story is one of ill will and bad blood in the clan, especially with Patrizia getting poor Maurizio out of his law degree. She puts her husband in position against every possible family member and may be considered the Meghan of her time. Supported by the naive clairvoyant Pina (Salma Hayek). And does it all fit together? One often gets the impression that the individual stars belong to completely different films, so little do they play on the same wavelength. The same goes for the screenplay, which as a melodrama even makes for unintentional laughs. Maurizio finally discovers the dark side of power like Michael Corleone once did and thus manages to revive the Gucci brand... Ridley Scott fails at many things, but not at the look of the film, the locations and costumes. They act like special effects that keep the whole thing alive, so that you never lose interest.
