Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025) (Rating 8,0) DVD-

- Ethan Hunt turns a wheel in a submarine and the image expands from widescreen to IMAX. After all, Tom Cruise saved the cinematic experience for our time with tricks like this! Unfortunately, not everything runs as smoothly as this wheel and the first hour seems rather sluggish and forgets some of the things that make Mission Impossible so special. But: the most impressive Mission Impossible is that the movie recovers from this first clunky hour. The Final Reckoning is the end point of the series, recapitulating all seven previous installments: Never is Ethan Hunt a superhero. He's the one who gets the job done. Ah, during the first hour, Ethan is in hiding and is then brought back for his mission. Then it starts, 170 minutes long, with so many big names that I don't want to spoil them. We realize that this is supposed to be the biggest film as the crowning finale. The philosophizing part. Really the last Mission Impossible? No more Ethan Hunt in the future? After all, he is the one who turns the wheels of cinema.
