FREE ON YOUTUBE (DU FINDEST DEN GANZEN FILM FREI AUF YOUTUBE) Filippos Tsitos lakonische Komödie handelt vom stolzen Griechen. - FREE ON YOUTUBE Filippos Tsitos laconic comedy is about the proud Greek. The proud Greek looks back on the tradition of his country, the root of our European culture. Today, however, his country is experiencing a crisis due to the European currency and a policy in which the debts of the banks are communitised but the profits remain private. Worst of all, the proud Greek is also seen as an Albanian! That is why the original title "Akadimia Platonos" refers not only to the district in Athens where the comedy takes place, but also to Plato's school. In Plato's school the search for truth was the focus. 2000 years later Stavros run a kiosk on the same site. They talk about being proud Greeks, drinking too much and playing football on their pitch. Of course, they are not anxious to gain new insights, let alone seek "truth". Instead, they talk about the danger of the Chinese or the plague of Albanian guest workers. And now a monument to "Intercultural Solidarity" is to be created on their site. Not in life! Meanwhile the kiosk operator Stavros (Antonis Kafetzopoulos) staggers through his life. He cares for his demented mother, dawdles away his days. Until his brother shows up from Albania. Brother? A person whose existence he never knew anything about. And his mother? Suddenly she speaks Albanian with the prodigal son... Filippos Tsitos has filmed the soul drama of a simple man. His simple truths dissolve. He loses the ground under his feet. And we? We don't laugh at him, but feel with him anyway. That's why I like Akadimia Platonos!
