Rave On (2025) (Rating 7,5) DVD-

Nach dem Mauerfall wurde Techno, geboren in improvisierten Clubs, durchkommerzialisiert und geisterte schliesslich als erzählerischer Hintergrund durch deutsche Serien und Filme. Das ist lange her und nur wenigen ist es gelungen, Techno wirklich glaubwürdig einzufangen. Rave On handelt von einer Clubnacht und davon, dass ein Producer einem DJ seine Platte überreichen will. Kosmo (Aaron Altaras) darf zuerst gar nicht rein, kann sich aber irgendwie erklären. Denn Kosmo wie zum Chicagoer DJ Troy Porter und ihm die Platte überreichen. Dadurch, dass die Handlung so einfach ist, erlaubt es Rave On, tief in die Nischen des Clubs vorzudringen (dahinter wird in echt gefeiert). Kosmos will eigentlich nüchtern bleiben, doch das geht in die Hose und so wird das Geschehen immer surrealer und irgendwann wird das Kino dann zum Club. - After the fall of the Berlin Wall, techno, which originated in improvised clubs, became commercialized and eventually haunted German TV series and films as a narrative backdrop. That was a long time ago, and only a few have managed to capture techno in a truly credible way. Rave On is about a night at a club and a producer who wants to give a DJ his record. Kosmo (Aaron Altaras) isn't allowed in at first, but somehow manages to explain himself. Kosmo wants to meet Chicago DJ Troy Porter and give him the record. Because the plot is so simple, Rave On allows us to delve deep into the niches of the club (where people are really partying). Kosmo actually wants to stay sober, but that goes down the drain and so the events become more and more surreal and at some point the cinema turns into a club.
