Wirklich so schlecht? -
When I recently wanted to show Star Trek X Nemesis in the film club, the DVD player spat out the silver disc immediately. The same goes for the laptop. Apparently Nemesis is so bad that the control systems go crazy to destroy the object. Really so bad? Well, we know about Star Trek X that it was the last of its kind. Bad enough to stop the production of the series. And who wants to see such masks in 2002, when the audience is used to completely different standards? Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew come together to celebrate the wedding of Officer William T. Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Counsellor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis). Afterwards they want to travel together to Betazed - Riker's last trip on the Enterprise. But on the way there one finds a positron beam source on the planet Kolarus III. What do you mean? Translation on closer inspection: The individual parts of an android that looks exactly like Lieutenant Commander Data (Brent Spiner). A prototype? Of course, despite the unsuccessful start within the film club Star Trek X, I still looked at it. Alone. I sit in front of the (huge) television and listen to dialogues about the isotronic Ruritronic signature of the planet Kolarus III. Maybe that was a bit too "positronic", at least I got bored, although I always liked this Star Trek language! Had the company run out of petrol? And the effects! Death rays hit the Enterprise. That's what it looks like: Sparks spray from the ceiling and the crew wobbles back and forth a little on the seats. Just like in a public bus. Back in 2002, it was time for Enterprise to take a giant leap into the future. To a distant time when aliens no longer look like funny colorful people with high foreheads and spaceships no longer look like video stores from the 80s.
