Einen Mix aus Horror, SciFi, Thriller, aber auch schwarzer Komödie, Anime und Fantasy bietet das Fantasy Filmfest als das einzige Festival mit einer so klaren Richtung. Besonders schön die obligatorische Retrospektive, die immer nur einen Bruchteil der Besucher der neueren Filme anzieht. Eine Woche kann man in das phantastische Genre in all seinen Ausprägungen eintauchen, man sieht dreiste Kopien von bekannten Filmen genauso wie Obskuritäten wie den neuen Film mit dem steinalten Rutger Hauer.
