Seine Filme; allen voran The Taming Of A Scoundrel, könnte man nun als banale Klamotten abtun. - FREE ON YOUTUBE There is a legend about Adriano Celentano how the son of immigrants from the south repaired a pinball box in Milan. He reassembled thousands of individual parts over a period of umpteen hours and thus became the hero there in the neighbourhood. Later on all over Italy and the rest of Europe! Celentano was always fearless and persistent. He began as an Italian Rock'n Roll imitator - creating his own unique sound. He transformed Rock'n Roll into something Ur-Italian! Authentic and that's why the Italians love it! His films, above all The Taming Of A Scoundrel, could now be dismissed as banal clothes. But that's not true! Celentano always creates a distance between himself and the art figure. An irritating distance, you don't always buy it from Celentano: a wealthy winegrower who resists technical progress by simply running himself against the machine his accountant wants to turn on. "Does the work of a hundred men?" Dancing on a wine barrel, he not only shows off his body, but wins against the machine. No one is dismissed! We laugh at his ape-like dance. But my mother always found him erotic and sensual. Celentano's art figure doesn't seem to know that. She always stays "cool". She never laughs. In old age Celentano became more serious and political. He denounced the injustice outside in the world. He opposed estate agents and, above all, environmental pollution. Long before fashion became fashionable! If you read his biography, you will find out that he started eating vegetarian food early and became an animal rights activist. In The Taming Of A scoundrel he has an intimate relationship with his domestic pig. He confides in him. People don't. This only changes when Ornella Mutis Lisa rings one night in the rain. Strangers are not allowed in the house. Especially not women. Celentano's Elia Codogna has a distinct fear of women. He is forty and has never been married. But Lisa doesn't just look like Ornella Muti, Italy's most beautiful woman. She can even fight! We, the audience, fall for Lisa on the spot. He, Elia, chases her from the homestead. This is the recipe of this comedy, in which a woman can fight a man at eye level. And Celentano? He cultivated a brief extramarital relationship with Muti. But I'm sure he also resisted it.
