Alain Resnais - er ist eine der schillernden Figuren des europäischen Kunst-Kinos! Er war von den Surrealisten genauso fasziniert wie von "volkstümlichen" Sachen. Hiroshima Mon Amour ist sein erster Spielfilm. Eine Meditation über die Bombe und die Undenkbarkeit einer atomaren Katastrophe. Resnais zeigt ein Paar, das ein langes Gespräch führt über das Vergessen und Erinnern. Immer wieder unterbrochen durch Bilder aus der Vergangenheit - Mini Flashbacks. Irgendwann sprach ich mit meinem Vater über Hiroshima Mon Amour. Es muss eine Sensation gewesen sein als dieser Film in den frühen 60ern in Deutschland anlief! Es war die Zeit der Film Clubs. Kleine Nischen, in denen sich Cineasten treffen. Du kannst sie dir vorstellen, wie sie in Seitenstrassen vom Kurfürstendamm kleine Film Clubs schufen, über Filme diskutierten und sich selbstverständlich versuchten, so wie Existentialisten zu kleiden. Alain Resnais war das gefundene Fressen! Viele würden Resnais heute gern zur Nouvelle Vague zählen, doch das stimmt nicht. Seine Karriere begann früher und er filmte unabhängig von solchen Strömungen. Sicher, er hatte Kontakt zu Marguerite-Duras, Alain-Robbe-Grillet, Chris-Marker oder Agnes-Varda - doch vor allem bleibt Resnais ein Einzelgänger des Kinos. Das Drehbuch von Hiroshima Mon Amour, das Marguerite Duras verfasste, stellt sich quer gegenüber Raum und Zeit. Ganz dem Vorbild des "Nouveau Roman" entsprechend. So kann die Vergangenheit mit der Gegenwart, das Öffentliche mit Privaten, ja die Fiktion mit der Dokumentation verbunden werden. Hiroshima Mon Amour wirkt phasenweise wie eine Doku, die dann schliesslich zu etwas anderem, NEUEN mutiert. Die Motivation: Eine Katastrophe solchen Ausmasses wie der Atombombe IST filmisch darstellbar! Eine französische Schauspielerin (Emmanuelle Riva) will in Hiroshima einen Film über den Frieden drehen. Sie hat einen One Night Stand mit einem japanischen Architekten (Eiji Okada) und erinnert sich schmerhaft an die Affäre zu einem deutschen Soldaten (Bernard Fresson) - gegen den Widerstand ihrer patriotischen Eltern. Diese Ereignisse werden nicht linear erzählt. Du musst dir Kontrapunkte vorstellen voller Wiederholungen und Variationen eines Themas. Wie in der Neuen Musik. Denn einzig beharrliche Erinnerung schützt vor dem Schrecken des unvermeidlichen Vergessens. So viel zur Theorie. Vor allem aber ist Hiroshima Mon Amour auch ein herzzerreissend schöner Film! Denk an die Nacht-Szene, in welcher die Schauspielerin und ihr Liebhaber in der Bar unten am Fluss sitzen! Dazu die wundervolle Musik von Georges Delerue. Hiroshima Mon Amour ist eine Elegie.
