War ER es, der den Rivalen Aldo Moro umbringen liess? Il Divo macht daraus eine trockene, entsetzliche Komödie. Regisseur Paolo Sorrentino zeigt sich faszniert von Andreottis böser Intelligenz. Erstaunlich ist, dass Il Divo noch zu Lebzeiten Andreottis gedreht wurde. Bis 1992 regierten Andreottis Christdemokraten, bis sie sich mit diversen Skandalen zerlegt hatten. Einzig Andreotti überlebte! Toni Servillo zeigt ihn als Politiker ohne Anziehungskraft und ohne Charisma. Sein Andreotti bleibt ein einziges Rätsel. Dabei zitiert Il Divo aus der politischen Geschichte Italiens seit dem zweiten Weltkrieg. Eine Farce - fast wie die Komödienform von "The Godfather". Darüber thront Andreotti, beobachtend, wissend, weise. Ein Zyniker. Ein grauer Finsterling. Welche Reaktion soll Il Divo hervorrufen? Empörung? Womöglich. Ich aber empfand Faszination. Wer könnte ihm heute nachfolgen? Italien hat seitdem nur noch Clowns produziert; nie wieder einen Andreotti. - Withdrawn, unhappy, extremely determined, cool and ruling as by divine law. His Andreotti remains a mystery. Il Divo quotes from the political history of Italy since the Second World War. A farce - almost like the comedy form of "The Godfather". Andreotti is enthroned above it, observant, knowing, wise. A cynic. A gray Finsterling. What reaction should Il Divo evoke? Outrage? Possibly. But I felt fascination. Who could follow him today? Italy has since produced only clowns; never an Andreotti again.
