Unser ehemaliger Kollege aus der Videothek, Thomas Groh, schreibt über Rosa von Praunheims Film: " Die Witwe Luzi und der junge Berliner Arbeiter Dietmar lernen sich am Kieler Hafen kennen. Es folgt eine Liebesgeschichte quer durch die Rituale spießbürgerlicher Polyester-Plüsch-Muffigkeit im 70er Ambiente. Als Luzi von Gangstern entführt wird, kommt es zur Katastrophe für das junge Glück. Eine bewusst grell überzeichnete, ebenso bewusst dilettantisch inszenierte Satire, die mit jeder Einstellung die soziale Konstruktion heteronormativer Lebensentwürfe und -stile bloßstellt (allerdings - darin besteht die große Kunst - Heterosexuelle an sich nicht diffamiert). Ein Meisterwerk, wenn auch - dies sei nicht verheimlicht - ein aufgrund seiner Machart nur unter Zuhilfenahme von Kopfschmerztabletten goutierbares. Das lose anschließende Sequel befindet sich als Bonus ebenfalls auf der DVD: In DIE BERLINER BETTWURST werden Luzi und Dietmar durch besondere Vergünstigungen der Stadt Berlin in die Hauptstadt gelockt und lernen dort das Metropolenleben in all seinen Facetten kennen. Die Spontaneität und die Gewitztheit des ersten Teils gehen hier zugunsten bloßer 70er-Fummel-Ausstellung und gestelzter Dialoge verloren - ein gescheiterter Kostümfilm allenfalls, auch Rosa von Praunheim steht dem Film heute skeptisch gegenüber. Produktionshintergrund und Alter des Films sollten die Erwartungshaltung in Sachen Qualität natürlich etwas drosseln. Zwar ist der Transfer recht befriedigend ausgefallen, doch war das (zum Teil scheinbar ohnehin überbelichtete) Material nicht das Beste. DVD Kaufen bei Amazon [Image] Allerdings unterstreicht dies die Wirkung des Films noch - in der Tat wirkt das über weite Strecken wie einer dieser unsäglich drögen Super8-Urlaubsfilme aus den 70er Jahren. Das Bonusmaterial fällt hingegen erstklassig aus: Zwar ist die Bildqualität des Sequels noch ein paar Stufen schlechter als die des Hauptfilms (es handelt sich um einen Print aus von Praunheims Privatarchiv in entsprechendem Zustand), doch kann man vermutlich schon darüber zufrieden sein, dass der Film überhaupt wieder verfügbar ist. Des weiteren gibt's ein ausführliches Special über die offenbar auch im echten Leben recht schrille Hauptdarstellerin Luzi Kryn, sowie zahlreiche interessante Hintergrundinformationen. A satire that is deliberately overdrawn, overdrawn, and equally deliberately amateurishly staged. The transfer was quite satisfying, but the (partly seemingly overexposed) material wasn't the best. The bonus material, on the other hand, is first class: The image quality of the sequel is still a few steps worse than that of the main movie (it's a print from Praunheim's private archive in a corresponding condition), but one can probably be satisfied that the film is available again at all. Furthermore, there's a detailed special about Luzi Kryn, who seems to be quite shrill in real life, as well as a lot of interesting background information.
