NETFLIX Hier kommt ein Standard Biopic, dass jeden Schritt uns vertrauter linearer Erzählweise einhält - über einen grossen Innovator: Leonard Benstein (Bradley Cooper). So ist Maestro technisch gelungen und emotional frustrierend. Das Drehbuch folgt einem ausgetretenen episodischen Pfad: Erst geschieht das, dann das und dann das. So wird ein grosser Teil von Bernsteins Leben oberflächlich abgehakt. Und trotzdem solltest du dir Maestro ansehen! Warum? Nun, weil der Film so ästhetisch ist! Dabei wirkt das alles so, als sei Maestro während der klassischen Hollywood Phase gemacht worden. Mit üppigen Technicolor Farben, ironischerweise für Szenen, die während der 60er und 70er spielen sollen. Regisseur Cooper hat sich um jedes Details bemüht, bis hin zu der Tatsache, dass wir meinen, er könnte wirklich dirigieren. Wir dürfen das in einer über fünfminütigen Sequenz bewundern! All das gehört ins Kino und wird doch nur auf netflix ausgeschlachtet. Bis zum 20.12.23 hast du immerhin ein kurzes Zeitfenster, um Maestro im Kino zu bewundern. - NETFLIX Here comes a standard biopic that sticks to a familiar linear narrative every step of the way - about a great innovator: Leonard Benstein (Bradley Cooper). So Maestro is technically successful and emotionally frustrating. The screenplay follows a well-trodden episodic path: First this happens, then this and then this. In this way, a large part of Bernstein's life is superficially ticked off. And yet you should watch Maestro! Why? Well, because the film is so aesthetically pleasing! It all looks as if Maestro was made during the classic Hollywood phase. With lush Technicolor colours, ironically for scenes that are supposed to take place during the 60s and 70s. Director Cooper has taken care of every detail, right down to the fact that we think he really could direct. We get to marvel at this in a sequence that lasts over five minutes! All of this belongs in the cinema and yet is only exploited on Netflix. At least you have a short window of opportunity to admire Maestro in the cinema until 20.12.23.
