- Since Homer's Odyssey there has been a sequel. Until today SciFi, Fantasy and Horror are the supporting pillars of the serial economy. For some time now, the cinema series have been astoundingly approaching the television series (which are way ahead of the cinema). Most series are ensemble pieces, Lord of the ring and Harry Potter are the ones. The most economical way is to merge everything into a crossover, the book, the film, the computer game. The series is everywhere! The big trick is to satisfy, bind and even shift an existing fan community like the cyberpunk fans of Matrix (or Gibson's novel). The series should become the everyday life of the fan, sneaking through the back door into his life. Is that bad? No, answers the addict, who feels connected to his series in a kind of love-hate relationship.
