Er ist einer, der nicht mitspielt. Seine Ironie, seine zynisch blickenden Augen, die Lakonie, mit der er eine Waffe hält - Mitchum verkörpert die Essenz des Film Noir, dem dunkelsten aller Genres. Mitchum sprach immer von B-Movies und davon, dass weder Zeit noch Geld investiert wurde. Dafür gibts aber diese wunderbaren Dialoge: "You're no good and I'm no good.
