(Hans Messias, Katholischer Filmdienst). -
Wenzel Storch is a Catholic who sings the high song of LSD. If you look at his films, you may believe that they are mainly utility films. To take them with LSD. In any case, my old film art partner Skulli closed a gap that had been open since the founding of our video store. The answer to the question: "Do you have films by Wenzel Storch? - No, unfortunately not, because he never published them". A very good video store like Skulli then simply becomes active, calls Wenzel Storch and brings out the films himself. Sounds simple? On the contrary. Storch is not a simple person, but an artist. One who ruined himself with his own work. At least financially. Now it seemed impossible to him to sell the last thing he still owned - his art! - for sale. But Skulli bought it with the offer to perform the Wenzel Storch artworks in the Bar 25 or the Badeschiff. Whatever he did. Even with reinforcements like DJ-Jörg-Buttgereit and other icons of Berlin film art. And the audience? The completely normal reaction. Young mothers tried to penetrate our cash-house to get their money back. After all, Storch films are not only surrealistic original compositions, but also absurd comedies. Provocative? But no! Silly in the best sense. The best thing is to read the criticism of the Catholic Film Service: "A miserable film that arouses more pity than provocation. Storch, who flirts with having accumulated a considerable amount of debt through his two films, would have been much better off financially if he had simply not made his films. He delivers personal head births that only interest him, and so it is already a minor scandal that "Summer of Love" was financed with funds from Filmbüro Hamburg and Filmbüro Nordrhein-Westfalen. The result, at any rate, is a film that thoroughly denigrates the evening after work." (Hans Messias, Catholic Film Service).
